I would try it with the Google USB driver, as that answer suggested, but I cannot find it; Although I have downloaded the ad usb driver through the sdk manager, there is no “google” folder under the extras folder.

Good luck Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium. What finally worked for me: Now I have successfully re-connected the tablet to ADB. You might consider trying Koush’s universal USB driver installer — it solved this very problem by installing the missing drivers. I cant see it has a drive adbb I can transfer files.
I think it uses different driver in fastboot mode normal mode and recovery mode. I had a similar problem with my Nexus 5. Sounds like a driver issue to me. The problem is that you have not all needed drivers PC can recognise your phone like usb device but debugging would not work.
Bryan Gentry 1 4 Being a Linux user, I’m not sure how Windows deals with this different driver, or same driver with different parameters, or something completely different.
Also when I check box to load camera it will show as j7. Oddly, it never asked me whether I wanted to always allow it from that computer, but I didn’t care. This is the perfect answer for your requirement stackoverflow.
